Happy Chinese New Year!
February 8th, 2016 marks the Chinese New Year and the year of the Monkey. The date of Chinese New Year varies year to year and is based on the Chinese lunar calendar, but always falls between January 21st and February 20th. Several countries outside of China, including Indonesia, Korea, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia, celebrate the holiday. During the observance of the holiday, Chinese businesses will close for at least seven days to celebrate a year of hard work and to wish for prosperity and luck in the coming year. The holiday’s effect on logistics can range from delayed production schedules to rolled sailings or flights. But, the most common impact is an increase in the cost of shipping stemming from ships and aircrafts moving at capacity. Fusion Logistics is committed to providing a consultative service to our customers to help them navigate the world of international trade and manage the shipping challenges that came with this and other holidays.
